OESG backs new Lancashire For Shale supporters group
The Onshore Energy Services Group (OESG) has lent its backing to Lancashire For Shale, a new group of businesses and residents that are backing fracking in Lancashire.
Launched in Blackpool on Monday 25th July, the new group says it intends to build on the work of its predecessor, the North West Energy Task Force, in making the economic argument for shale gas extraction in Lancashire whilst also helping local businesses get ready for shale.
Lancashire For Shale is working with the North & Western Lancashire and East Lancashire Chambers of Commerce, which have jointly developed an online portal for supply chain hopefuls.
Together, the three organisations want to maximise the contracting opportunities for Lancashire firms and position them to benefit the most.
The OESG shares this ambition and wants to see local SMEs benefit from supply chain work in the areas that host shale gas.
As a result, it has agreed to support Lancashire For Shale in its endeavours.
